Director's Corner
Dear ,

This continues to be an exciting year for the Northeastern California SBDC, its partners and clients. Thanks in large part to our new partners, including the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development and local lenders, we have been able to expand the number of business advisers available to assist local entrepreneurs and small business owners. In particular, the focus over the past 7 months has been to expand access to capital. Today we are at 230% of last year's capital infusion levels for the entire year.

So far this calendar year, we have helped 171 local businesses secure $24 million ($24,711,709.80) in new capital.

In addition to Capital Infusion, so far this calendar year we have:
  • Helped small businesses create 255 jobs
  • Helped small businesses retain 177 jobs
  • Provided 1,174 clients with 1 on 1 advising, totaling over 4,917 hours
  • Provided training to 997 entrepreneurs
  • Help entrepreneurs launch 79 companies
We look forward to expanding our services to help more local entrepreneurs. We are able to leverage every local $1 dollar of support to secure $3 dollars of Federal funding. In other words, your $1 of support results in $4 in local technical assistance. To find out how to work with the NEC SBDC program in your community, please reach out to me, or your local office (links to the left of this article). Thank you so much for your support.

Sincerely,

NEC SBDC Business Needs Assessment Survey

The Northeastern California Small Business Development Center (NECSBDC) is conducting a six week (7/13/15 - 8/21/15) survey to determine the needs of regional small businesses.

This survey will gather useful data on small businesses throughout the 23 county region that the NEC SBDC serves. The survey consists of a variety of questions that will help the NEC SBDC thoroughly understand the needs of the small business community. There will also be an opportunity for the participants of the survey to win a Nexus 7 Google Tablet.

If your business is located in the NEC SBDC region please take a few minutes(approximately 5 minutes) to fill out our survey. If you have already taken this survey, thank you.
