Lots of things happening with the Northeastern California SBDC Program.

This month we are happy to spotlight one of our client success stories.  Your Cable Store in Paradise, California was named the Exporter of the Year by the regional SBA office.

We are seeking bidders for hosting a new SBDC service center to serve the region stretching from Modoc County, along the Nevada border, down to South Lake Tahoe.  The article below provides a link to more information on the bidding process.

Finally, the College of Business at CSU, Chico is working with our office and the Center for Economic Development to identify organizations who may benefit from working with College of Business student research teams.  Follow the link below for more information.

REGIONAL SMALL BUSINESS NEWS
SBDC Request For Proposal        
  
The CSU, Chico Research Foundation and the Northeastern California Small Business Development Center (NECSBDC) are initiating the process of requesting proposals from qualified organizations to serve as a regional Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the Sierra-Cascade service area (Lassen, Modoc, upper Nevada, upper Placer, Plumas, upper El Dorado, and Sierra counties). 

This is a competitive grant program. Proposals are due July 31, 2014

Paradise business named top exporter

There are no seaboards or international airports nearby, no major transportation lanes that would be associated with exporting goods from Paradise, but that didn't stop Your Cable Store from landing a federal business award for exporting.
   

Owners Amy and Nathan Arendt of Paradise were not the only ones surprised when they were emailed of their exporting honor from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Sacramento District.  

"We were surprised, humbled ..." said Amy Arendt.


They do send products around the world, as chronicled by world map bristling with colored stick pins, but it is not a majority of their business. READ MORE
