|  Dear , Lots of things happening with the Northeastern California SBDC Program.
First of all, we are sadden that Shasta College will no longer be hosting the NEC SBDC program in Redding (servicing Siskiyou, Modoc, Lassen, Trinity and Shasta counties). Shasta College has done an outstanding job of supporting regional entrepreneurs, and we thank them for all their hard work. The Shasta College based SBDC program will end operations the week of May 26th. The Northeastern California SBDC work will continue to offer small business assistance services in the above counties. We are working with three dozen organizations, lenders, and other partners to continue and expand small business services. A new location will be announced soon. If you would like to to be involved with the Northeastern California SBDC servicing the above counties, please feel free to contact me at (530) 898-3861. As many of you know, the SBDC program works with over 5,700 small businesses regionally, and over 65,000 small business across the State of California. Below is a list of upcoming workshops, as well as a link to see an NEC SBDC client compete on Shark Tank. If you would like to know about local workshops and service offerings in your community, see the link on the left of this newsletter.

Regional NEC SBDC Planning Meeting in Redding
The Northeastern California Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network is scheduling a meeting of regional business and community leaders, economic development organizations, and entrepreneurial support organizations in Shasta (additional meetings will be held in Trinity and Siskiyou counties). The purpose of this and future meetings will be to discuss the future of the Northeastern California SBDC programs and services in Shasta, Trinity, and Siskiyou counties after June 1st, 2014. Shasta College has done an outstanding job of hosting the Small Business Development Center program over the past ten years. Moving forward, we are seeking new opportunities for regional collaboration for providing Small Business Development Center services in the region.
The SBDC provides important services including one-on-one technical assistance for business start-up, expansion, and access to capital, as well as small business training events. The purpose of the meeting will be to identify ways to maximize services for regional entrepreneurs and small business owners, leveraging Federal Small Business Administration funding. During the meeting we will outline ways for you to get involved.
