Calendar Released for Via West Respites

Registration Opens for Via West Respite Program

Via West Campus has just released its calendar for the upcoming fall, winter, and spring respite programs. Via West, a program of Via Services, Inc., offers year-round day and residential programs for adults and children with disabilities, ages 5 and older. The campus is located in the Cupertino foothills.

Via West is offering eleven respite opportunities, an increase from nine the previous year. All of the sessions will continue to provide an enhanced curriculum featuring social skills, iPads and technology, independent living skills, and an emphasis on living healthy. Many of the sessions will also include community integration with field trips offsite.

Each respite will include lesson plans and activities that have been designed around a specific theme. These themes will include "It's a Harry Potter Halloween," "Wild Science Weekend," "Jingle Bell Rock," and "Feliz Cinco de Mayo."

March 2013 will introduce a new respite for mainstreamed participants with mild to moderate disabilities. There will also be day programs offered for the first time during respites as an introduction to Via West for those not yet ready for the overnight experience.
