Leading By Example

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean received the 2014 Joe Kraft Humanitarian Award from the  Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee on November 13 at a SOLD OUT event at the Music City Center. Mayor Karl Dean's leadership and vision has been instrumental in Nashville's growth. Along with his pillars of improving schools, making neighborhoods safer and bringing more jobs to Nashville, Mayor Dean's numerous initiatives, supporting music education, promoting health, sustainability and volunteerism has improved Music City's quality of life.

Mayor Dean is also a volunteer mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. He's pictured here receiving a congratulatory hug from his "Little."

Quote of the Week

"Consensus: The process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values, and policies in search of  something in which no one believes, but to which no one objects; the process of avoiding the very issues that have to be solved, merely because you cannot get agreement on the way ahead. What great cause would have been fought and won under the banner: 'I stand for consensus? "  - Margaret Thatcher

Event Volunteers Needed This Saturday Night

HON
It takes a great deal of coordinated effort to present a concert event. When you consider that a majority of the concert we will be on stage, it's only logical that we need other people to do EVERYTHING ELSE! If you can help us on November 22nd with either the matinee or evening event, or BOTH, please register online by visiting our partners at Hands on Nashville.

We have plenty of volunteers for the first three shifts but still need help from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Shift #4 - 6:30pm to 9:30pm (help before and during the evening concert)
