 The Grace Thomson Interview
Q1: If you ruled the world, what's the first thing you would change?
I would eliminate mankind's worldwide dependence on unsustainable energy sources (Read: solar panels, wind power, stationary bicycles for all!) - I think that would have a pretty profound effect on a lot of other current issues.
Q2: If you could give your 10-year old self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Stay away from David B. He will only push you off of playground equipment.
Q3: If this were a to-do list, what's the first thing that would be on it?
1. Brew more coffee
Q4: If this were the last day of your life, what would you be doing?
Enjoying the company of loved ones while overlooking sunset on Empire Beach, Lake Michigan. And maybe eating pizza and s'mores.
Q5: If you could rid yourself of one personal fear, what would it be?
Drowning. Or perhaps death/dismemberment by some tragic, horrific, painful accident.
Q6: If you could have created any one great work of art- a song - a painting - a movie by another artist, what would it be?
I wish I could have been part of the film crew for the 1992 documentary 'Baraka'. They filmed 152 locations in 23 countries. Ron Fricke is brilliant.
Q7: If you could have any other talent, what would it be?
Fluency in multiple languages!
Q8: If you had a super-power, what would it be?
Easy! Teleportation.
Q9: What's next for Grace Thomson?
I'm moving to Tucson, Arizona! Looking forward to new opportunities, living close to family, a yard full of Saguaro cacti, and the ever-present threat of dehydration!
Q10: What will you miss most about your time with the Nashville Singers?
Goodness! So much. I have truly enjoyed working with the chorus over the past few years! They are hard-working, talented, hilarious and dedicated to their mission and outreach.

The Nashville Singers Bid Grace a Fond Farewell!
 | | Photo by Chris Salin |
Every active member of the chorus turned out Thursday night for a recording session up in the sanctuary, assisted by some warm-ups and coaching by Grace Thomson. We squeezed in some social time to say goodbye to Grace as she starts a new adventure in Tucson this week.

We're Hiring!
The Nashville Singers is currently interviewing candidates for a a few short-term, part-time, commissioned sales positions to secure paid advertisers for our concert program and website. Ideally, one would cover Davidson County and the other would target Rutherford County businesses. We can provide some Davidson County leads, a phone script, advertising prospectus, sample programs from last year, and order forms. Prospecting would be completed between October 14 and October 31st. The deadline to reserve ad space is October 31st. The deadline for ad artwork is November 8th. To schedule an interview, email todd@nashvillesingers.org.
