Member Profile -  Rodney Turner

Rodney Turner of the Nashville Singers
Rodney Turner
of the Nashville Singers
Rodney began singing in church when he was three. Born and raised in Miami Springs, Florida his family was musically centered - from his mother, who sang in a trio with his two aunts, two sisters who both sing, and play the piano, and everyone, even his Dad, sang in church choir. Rodney began playing clarinet in the 6th grade and was asked by his high school band director to play tenor sax and baritone sax in marching and concert band, respectively. Singing has always been Rodney's first love - from a three year old at the Miami Springs Baptist Church to quartets and church choirs throughout his life. He is currently an air traffic controller in Nashville, Tennessee. He is married to Julie Chambers Turner of Lenoir City, Tennessee has one daughter, Rylie, three - two sons, Joey - 30 and Bryan - 25 with 5 grandchildren - Tanner, McKenzie, Kyle, Michael and Christopher. Rodney will retire in 2013 and is currently pursuing a second career as a voice-over talent. He received the Rookie of the Year Award for 2011.

Quote of the Week

I believe that   eno singing is the key to long life, a good figure, a stable temperament, increased intelligence, new friends, super self-confidence, heightened sexual attractiveness and a better sense of humor. A recent long-term study conducted in Scandinavia sought to discover which activities related to a healthy and happy later life. Three stood out: camping, dancing and singing. - Brian Eno

British composer, artist and activist Brian Eno was a founding member of the rock group Roxy Music, and has produced recordings by Talking Heads and U2.
