SPECIAL Extra Rehearsal Scheduled for July 25
With summer vacations in full swing, so many members traveling this past month, and a recording session coming up in less than two weeks for our new Christmas CD, the singers in attendance at last week's rehearsal have requested an extra rehearsal be scheduled to help get the chorus in tip top shape for July 27. That said, we will meet at Whitworth Memorial Baptist Church for a two-hour extra rehearsal on Thursday evening, July 25, starting at 7:00pm.

Member Profile - Tim Mullican
| | Tim Mullican of the Nashville Singers |
Tim Mullican started singing in front of the mirror in his parents bedroom at the age of three. He would sing church hymns and imitate the song leader where his family attended worship. He began leading singing in church at the age of 16.
Tim was a member of the McGavock High School Band playing French horn in the Wind Ensemble and the marching band. He also played in the Jazz Rock Ensemble and the Nashville Youth Symphony.
Tim sang in the chorus two years and was a member of the Tennessee All-State Band and All-State Chorus his senior year.
Tim was selected to the Who's Who Among American High School Students in 1976. After attending Middle Tennessee State University in 1977 where he sang in the Concert Choir, Tim enlisted in the USAF where he began training as an air traffic controller. After separating from the Air Force, he was hired by the FAA as an air traffic controller. Tim worked in Atlanta, Georgia and moved back home to Nashville in 1990 so he and his wife Amy could be close to their families. Tim and Amy have been married for almost 30 years and have two sons, Zachary and Parker.
Tim serves the chorus as board treasurer, in-house photographer, and historian.

This Day in Music
July 15, 1978 - The Rolling Stones started a two-week run at No.1 on the US album chart with 'Some Girls', the group's seventh US No.1 album. The cover designed by Peter Corriston, featured The Rolling Stones in garish drag alongside select female celebrities and lingerie ads. The cover immediately ran into trouble when Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (representing her mother Judy Garland), Raquel Welch, and the estate of Marilyn Monroe who all threatened legal action.
