Melody Myers to Record and Perform with the Nashville Singers

Melody Myers garnered attention from around the globe when her audition for the soprano solo in Lux Aurumque was selected by renowned composer and director Eric Whitacre to be featured on his very first Virtual Choir video, which has been viewed 3.7 million times on YouTube. Myers went on to win one of four Paradise Lost scholarships offered by Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) and Eric Whitacre which led to a performance at Carnegie Hall on June 15, 2010.
Melody was born in Hollywood, California, and is a junior enrolled at Cumberland University in Lebanon. She is pursuing a Music Performance degree. Melody is 21 years old and has been singing and acting since she was 4 years old. She loves classical, barbershop, opera, and a cappella music. She's a fan of many barbershop groups, including ACOUSTIX and the Suntones. Her dream is to become a professional opera singer. Myers has sung in three quartets with Sweet Adelines, competing at the international level twice. Her YouTube Channel has over 3400 subscribers. Her videos have been viewed almost one million times. Melody (and her mom) met with Todd Wilson this past weekend to discuss her inclusion on the upcoming Nashville Singers Christmas CD project and the 2013 Season of Harmony concert. Melody said she would be delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Nashville Singers. The delight is mutual. |

Open Rehearsal at TSU Draws a Crowd
The Nashville Singers took our show on the road and held a rehearsal at Tennessee State University's E.T. Goins Recital Hall last Thursday evening. It was a pleasure to have such a young, receptive audience, and a special treat to perform "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" with so many of the talented gentlemen and LADIES present! We should also thank Victor Davis, adjunct Professor of Music at TSU for serving as guest conductor for one run-through of the Lord Bless You and Keep You. We made lots of new friends. Kudos to Dr. Robert Elliott, TSU's Music Department Chair for making this happen!
