We do not come cheap, but we are worth every bit of it. Metro Arts Commission's Jen Cole Addresses Season of Harmony Crowd
 | |
Jen Cole, Executive Director of the Metro Nashville Arts Commission
|
"The Metro Arts Commission really exists to invest city dollars to stimulate the arts, and I can't think of a better way to spend my Saturday evening than to be right here stimulating the arts with the Nashville Singers. The Nashville Singers are a true community chorus, investing their personal time as volunteers, and engaging dozens and dozens and dozens of partners for in-kind support. But possibly the best gift they give in addition to the amazing vehicle of their voice, is the commitment they have to public education, and the education and training of new vocalists. Please continue to support the Nashville Singers and impact our great and diverse arts community in Nashville."

After wowing our Season of Harmony audience for a second straight years, we caught up with our guest quartet in the lobby of Hillsboro High School. This photo requires a bit of explanation. Last year, to show our appreciation for their epic Old McDonald Had a Farm parody, we presented these guys with rubber chickens. What could top that? Tiaras and sashes, of course!

This Day in Music
November 19, 1964 - The Supremes (Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard) became the first all girl group to have a UK No.1 single when 'Baby Love' went to the top of the charts. Written and produced by Motown's main production team Holland-Dozier-Holland, it was also the second of five Supremes songs in a row to go to No.1 in the United States.
