Fair season is fast approaching; please check your email and our website often for important information on the Clay County Fair and other exhibition opportunities throughout the year.

Did you recently attend a 4-H event or want to check out pictures of the Clay County Fair?  All photos taken are posted here.  This is a safe, private site for 4-H members and their families to view pictures from all Clay County 4-H events. 

Club Competition   


Meet the Challenge 2013
Attention all Clay County 4-H Clubs: Are you going to
Meet the Challenge 2013?  This is a great way to engage in some friendly club competition!  

Community Compassion
To enter the competition by July 31st, please include on a sheet of paper your name, club name, phone, email and in 500 words or less describe your project idea.  For more information email joengel@iastate.edu.  The winning entry will have a banner on display in the 4-H Exhibit Building during the Clay County Fair. 

 

Club Booth Decorating   

Club Booth Decorating Contest for the 2013 Clay County Fair has the theme of "Unmask Your  Opportunities".  Club Booths will be judged on Thursday morning before the fair.

The winning club will receive a $25 pizza certificate and a  

"Large" Ribbon Award to display in your booth!

 



General Information

Clay County Fair Livestock Entries

Clay County Fair Entries are handled by your 4-H club.  To enter exhibits in the Fair, follow these guidelines:

1.  Check with your club leader for Club entry deadlines.

2.  Complete entry cards, individual summary sheet and pay your club before the deadline.

3.  Check Fair schedule and follow all the entry and release times for your project areas.

Livestock Project Areas

 


Swine Information

Please see the following link for information on erysipelas in swine.  At this point vaccination is recommended, but not mandatory.  Please contact your local veterinarian for questions and withdrawal times.

 

 

Broiler Delivery

Broilers will be delivered July 18th OR 19th to the Extension Office this year.  Please make sure to contact the office at 712-262-2264 before coming to pick up broilers.

SpIn Events  

 

Clay County Extension is continuing the programming format called SpIn or "Special Interest" Programming.  Most events are free to 4-Hers and most are open to ALL Clay County youth grades 3-12. August's event is Advanced Vet Science August 1-2!
