Did you recently attend a 4-H event or want to check out pictures of the Clay County Fair?  All photos taken are posted here.  This is a safe, private site for 4-H members and their families to view pictures from all Clay County 4-H events.

Meet the Challenge 2013
Attention all Clay County 4-H Clubs: Are you going to
Meet the Challenge 2013?  This is a great way to engage in some friendly club competition!  

Community Compassion

Clay County 4-Hers have a chance to raise money and support for a community service project of their choice during the Clay County Fair.  The Clay County Extension Office is now accepting entries for the 2013 Community Compassion competition for clubs, members or groups of members.

 

To enter the competition by July 31st, please include on a sheet of paper your name, club name, phone, email and in 500 words or less describe your project idea.  For more information email joengel@iastate.edu.  The winning entry will have a banner on display in the 4-H Exhibit Building during the Clay County Fair. 

 

Club Booth Decorating   

Club Booth Decorating Contest for the 2013 Clay County Fair has the theme of "Unmask Your  Opportunities".  Club Booths will be judged on Thursday morning before the fair.

The winning club will receive a $25 Pizza certificate and a  

"Large" Ribbon Award to display in your booth!

Posies in a Pail
Stop in at our office to sign up for Posies in a Pail and pick up your bucket!  Posies must be planted by July 15th!  Find Instructions and FAQ's about Posies in a Pail.

Clay County Fair Information
4-Hers: contact your leader to sign up for the Clay County Fair!  We hope all of our 4-H families have received their information packets with the new sample forms!

Livestock Project Areas

 

Ag Experience

The 2013 Ag Experience will be held on Thursday, July 18th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Livestock Pavilion on the Clay County Fairgrounds. 
This will be an educational "hands on" experience to learn about livestock and grains produced locally. Drive to Feed the World will be making a stop at Ag Experience. 

 

Swine Information

Please see the following link for information on erysipelas in swine.  At this point vaccination is recommended, but not mandatory.  Please contact your local veterinarian for questions and withdrawal times.

 

Bunny Basics Tattoo Clinic

There will be a bunny basics tattoo clinic on June 25th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the 4-H Auditorium on the Clay County Fairgrounds.  Plan to bring your bunnies!  RSVP at 262-2264.   

SpIn Events  

 

Clay County Extension is continuing the programming format called SpIn or "Special Interest" Programming.  Most events are free to 4-Hers and most are open to ALL Clay County youth grades 3-12. July is packed with possibilities!
