4-H Clover Bowl Awards:


Join us for the 4-H Clover Bowl Awards!  Come to the Clay County Regional Events Center on March 11th at 6:00pm for the awards and stay for the optional social hour at 7:00.

We will be recognizing project and recordkeeping award winners along with membership awards.  First year members will receive a certificate.

Most Awesome Leader Award:
Is your 4-H Leader awesome?  E-mail Anissa or call us and tell us what awesome things your leader does for your club.  Deadline is March 4th.  Leader will get a prize and a banner in the Exhibit Building at the Clay County Fair!

Members also need to select their project areas in 4-H Online.  This is very important since we use this list to send event invites, weigh in reminders and other important 4-H information!

Attention 6th-8th Graders!  

 The Intermediate PLUNGE! Adventure to the Iowa 4-H Camping Center is for 6th - 8th grade youth from Region 1 in Northwest Iowa who want to build friendships, strengthen their leadership skills and have fun!   

We will board a chartered bus on April 26th after school and return home on Saturday night, the 27th.

Livestock Project Areas

 

Junior Feeder Weigh Ins

Any 4-H or FFA beef project member wishing to participate in the junior feeder program must have animals weighed, and tagged at the Clay County weigh-in at the Spencer Livestock Sale Barn. Youth may weigh-in two pens of three or four same sex calves per pen at weigh-in on March 16th. The weigh-in will be from 9:00 am-11:00 am at the Spencer Livestock Sale Barn. Junior Feeder project members will be responsible for the $1.50 cost per tag. The junior feeder weigh-in will allow beef project members to participate in the junior feeder program, but does not constitute a fair entry.  For more information regarding the junior feeder project or weigh-in contact CC-E FFA Advisor, Betsy Schoelerman at 834-2227 or bschoelerman@clay-everly.k12.ia.us or any of the Jr. Feeder committee members.(Snow Date: Saturday, March 23rd - Listen to KICD).

Youth Horse Jamboree

The 2013 Youth Horse Jamboree is scheduled for April 13 & 14 in Ames.

 

NEW for 2013:  All entries this year are online and are due March 15th.

SpIn Events  

 

Clay County Extension is continuing the programming format called SpIn or "Special Interest" Programming.  The events are free to 4-Hers and are open to ALL Clay County youth grades 3-12. Events For February and beginning of March include:

 

Canine Good Citizen -  Feb 12 - March 26,  6:30-7:30pm, Southpark Mall, 4-H Membership and 1 year dog obedience required.

 

Regional Horse Clinics 

- Feb 24, 2-4pm at the Palo Alto Extension Office, March 24, 2-4pm Emmet County.  4-H Membership Required 

 

Aaron Eilerts Service Learning Day - February 27, 1-4pm at the Clay County Extension Office, making Dresses for Haiti

 

Square Foot Gardening- Del's Garden Center,  March 16, 2pm

 

Get Your Goat On - Saturday, March 16 1-3pm, Livestock Pavilion, Clay County Fairgrounds
