Two weeks and three days from now on March 20 and 21, 500 of the most elite innovators in payments will convene at Harvard University for The Innovation Project. Those two days will tap the energy and intellect of most senior members of this vast and dynamic ecosystem to change the way that the payments and the broader commerce ecosystem thinks, talks, delivers and ignites innovation. Nearly every single payments company across this vast ecosystem is sending its senior innovators to participate.

We'll take the conversation about payments and commerce in an entirely new direction by pairing industry CEOs - more than 50 of them - with 9 of the most amazing external thought leaders in the space such as Al Gore (Apple Board member and former U.S. VP), Larry Summers (Square Board member and former Secretary of the Treasury), Steve Levitt (Freakonomics), Eric Ries (The Lean Startup), Rosie Rios (U.S. Treasurer), Russell Simmons (RushCard), Raj Date (ex #2 at the CFPB), Michael Barr (ex-U.S. Treasury and Dodd Frank architect) and Josh Lerner (HBS Prof who wrote The Architecture of Innovation).

We'll inspire industry collaboration around tough problems. The ThinkAThon assembles 15 teams who will tackle 5 of the toughest industry problems in the space and present solution frameworks to a panel of judges who will provide feedback in real time.

We'll give 41 of the hottest and most promising "next generation" payments innovators the opportunity the space and the time to showcase their innovations. Many of these innovators will delegates a hands on opportunity to see, feel, touch and experience what they think will reinvent payments and commerce.

We'll celebrate innovation and the innovators who ignite it at the 2013 PYMNTS.com Innovator Awards. This year we'll honor the first, second and third place finishers across 15 categories. And, it is guaranteed to be fun, fun, fun since we have B.J. Novak of The Office as our emcee.

We'll honor those early innovators who laid the foundations for the innovations we see and leverage today. Three such innovators will be inducted into the first ever Payments Hall of Fame and will be present to receive their honors. One will be honored with the Payments Lifetime Achievement Award.
