Ramp Closure and Detour

On Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, the southbound I-25 on and off-ramps at Cimarron Street will be closed. Traffic will detour east on Bijou Street to south Cascade Avenue. The ramp closures are required for paving activities and to set temporary barrier. Click here to view detour map. Lane Restrictions on I-25 and US 24

On Sunday night, March 20 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.drivers will encounter single and double lane restrictions along northbound I-25 (between Colorado Avenue and south Nevada/Tejon Street). In addition Sunday, March 20 through Thursday, March 24 each night, the travelling public will experience various single lane restrictions on eastbound and westbound US 24 (between 8th Street and I-25). These lane restrictions are required for removal and restriping activities, paving and to set temporary barrier. 

Drivers are Urged to Slow Down and Pay Attention
  • I-25 speed limit reduced to 55 miles per hour in the I-25/Cimarron project area.
  • Pay close attention when driving near the I-25/Cimarron Project. 
  • Slow down, observe speed limits, avoid distractions, and allow extra time for your commute.
  • Alternative route advised.

  • Maximize overall safety, capacity and operation of the interchange and the surrounding transportation network within the Project budget;

  • Minimize impacts and inconvenience to the community, motorists, businesses, downtown and the public during construction; and
  • Achieve an aesthetically pleasing design compatible with current and future amenities and enhancements in and around the interchange.
