General Assembly Stated Clerk J. Herbert Nelson, II, has issued a letter to the church, commending new resource.

Stated Clerk endorses new resource on immigration and sanctuary "Welcome and the law" outlines legal issues for churches considering sanctuary, other activities

As Presbyterians increasingly face legal and other issues around providing welcome and hospitality to immigrants, the Immigration Office of the Office of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has released a new resource for congregations titled, "Welcome and the Law."

PRAYERS OF THE PRESBYTERY
Author of creation, who set this universe to expand and planets to spin, thank you for sharing. As we sit and spin in our places, disoriented by Resurrection, we thank you for sharing your life with us. Thank you for sharing the example of Jesus, our Christ. He has brought your light into our blindness and astounded us with life where we had seen only death. In that Great Hour of Sharing we are changed. We are made alive. Keep us in that holy way of sharing. As we agonize in this world fraught with all kinds of distress, may we live as your people, a people of faith and hope and love; things which are deathless and eternal. Grant us clear vision to share that eternity and exhibit your kingdom of peace, your righteousness, your reversal of fortune, the persevering hope that was borne to us in Christ. May the Day of Resurrection be our light daily. Amen.

April prayers submitted by Reverend Stanley Kessler, Honorably Retired
