As the beautiful fall colors fill our senses with the glory of God, we join with all creation to give thanks for the love of God. We are invited to respond to such grace by giving of our time, talent, creativity and praise through so many ways. One way is to assemble together in worship, fellowship and mission as the Presbytery of Wabash Valley. You are encouraged to answer the call to worship on November 15 at 10 AM at 200 East Beardsley at the First Presbyterian Church of Elkhart, Indiana. We will install and commission the new moderator, vice moderator and other officers of the Presbytery; we will vote on the amendments to the Book of Order and the Directory for Worship; we will examine a candidate for ordination; we will give praise to our Lord, Jesus Christ in Bible study, prayer and song. Make your reservation today.

PRAYERS of the PRESBYTERY
| | |
Sovereign God, as we come to you in prayer we ask for an extra measure of guidance in the coming days. Once again, this great nation of ours is casting ballots to elect a president and others to lead us into the
future. We ask that our decisions be made wisely, based on facts as we know them and not strictly on emotions. Whatever the outcomes, may civility prevail and may the results be accepted graciously if not applauded. We pray for this nation as it goes forward, that the major divisions evidenced in this election might begin to heal and that we might all come together for the greater good. Be with us, we pray, and grant us clarity and peace as we go to the polls. Amen.
Prayer provided by Rev. Paige Cantwell, Honorably Retired
Please pray for....

- Dot Smook and Rev. David Smook, PWV Moderator, as Dot undergoes treatment of her thyroid
- The Rev. Jack Hess, Honorably Retired, as he continues to struggle with health concerns

-The Mission Statement of the Presbytery of Wabash Valley
|
In recent weeks, employers have contacted the Board requesting an update to their Employer Agreement. As you know, a change in the Employer Agreement affects the benefits elections available to or made by your employees for 2017. It's important that employees have the opportunity to elect benefits by the November 11 close of annual enrollment. Therefore, please be mindful that we are unable to accept any changes to the Employer Agreement after November 4. If you have a question or need assistance, contact the Board at 800-773-7752 (800-PRESPLAN).
Thank you for your continued support, especially during this annual enrollment period.

2017 Per Capita
Hear ye, hear ye! The Presbytery of Wabash Valley's Council announces that the per capita amount for 2017 as been approved and will be $39.76. This represents a .38 cent increase over 2016. ($28.45- PWV; $3.81- SOLT; $7.50- GA)
$28.45 of this directly benefits your presbytery, which is committed to strengthening congregations. How are we doing that? We promise to work on discovering the ways in which you can be supported for thriving ministry. We're on the road to identifying and training an advocate for each congregation, so that you have a consistent connection to the presbytery and our shared resources. We're focusing on developing a better presbytery web presence and to helping congregations do the same, through websites, technological communication and social media training. Your per capita contributions allow us to more faithfully serve you in Christ's name. Thank you for your faithfulness and partnership in the gospel.

CONGREGATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
| | |
 |
| | Rossville PC |
This week we especially lift the Rossville Presbyterian Church and the Rossville community in our prayers. A new ministry initiative with which they are heavily involved is ROCK (Rossville Organization of Christian Kids). ROCK is a joint community youth group supported by 4 local churches. All four pastors are involved, along with parents, student leaders and dozens of other Middle and High School students. Everyone is very excited about this effort to encourage teens in their faith and to reach their friends with the gospel. We pray for this ministry!

Understanding Yourself in a Team that Thrives
One of the ways to build thriving teams is to understand the personalities and behaviors of those who make up that team and how individual members contribute to the overall success of the team. Join Dr. Aleze Fulbright as she unpacks a tool for understanding personal and team dynamics: The Birkman Method. The Birkman Method is a scientifically developed, multi-dimensional personality assessment that helps individuals gain that deeper understanding of their behaviors. This live online workshop is December 7.
