O God, sometimes we feel so distant from You. We are more connected to our cell phones, emails, and lists of things to do than we are to You. Help us to slow down, to create quiet space for deep, listening prayer. Help us to remember, again and again, how much You love us, and that no matter what we face in life, we are never alone. You are not only with us but, just as You promised, You really are IN us. Ah, thank You, Risen Lord!

- Rev. Sarah Sanderson-Doughty, Elkhart First Presbyterian Church, who continues to seek diagnosis and treatment for loss of her voice for the past several weeks.

The Concerned Citizens for Syrian Refugees (CCSR) is sponsoring a fundraising dinner in Michigan City for the aid of these refugees, 5:00 to 8:00 pm (CST), May 21, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Michigan City. All food and labor have been donated, meaning 100% of all ticket sales ($50 ea) and donations will go to Zakat Foundation's Relief for Syrian Refugees www.zakat.org and is 100% tax deductible. The Church Leadership Connection (CLC) a ministry of the Office of the General Assembly will host one Face to Face Event this year at the 222nd General Assembly, Portland, Oregon, June 17-21, 2016.
Face to Face will include PNC training, a mid council panel discussion, call seeker's training, networking opportunities, vocational coaching, one-on-one PIF reviews, and other educational opportunities for call seeker's and calling organizations. All search committees for installed and temporary positions with an active MIF or approved job description are encouraged to attend. Registration deadline is May 27, 2016.
