As you may remember, I have asked the churches of the Presbytery of Wabash Valley to pray for one another. Keeping one another in prayer and sharing reinforces our connections. As Presbyterians we take seriously the injunction in John 17 21 "that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me." Part of being made one is in finding the common ground we find that binds us together. The Presbytery Assembly is an opportunity to study scripture, worship God, and do the business of the Kingdom of God. We remember that which unifies us in the power and love of God in Jesus Christ. As you prepare to be part of the heart of the Presbyterian Polity found in the Presbytery Assembly, may we find Christ in one another as we gather in the name of Jesus. Prepare to celebrate that which unites us on February 20 at 10 AM at Rossville Presbyterian Church. 5434 W. SR 26. Rossville, IN 46065-9842 In Christ, Dr. David Smook Moderator

My Experience @ Triennium
By Brittany Diehl Glass
Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church (Crawfordsville) Member
I was part of the local crew for the 2004 Triennium. This was a way for me to get even more out of the Triennium experience by being both a participant and staff. I went to Purdue a week early to help get everything set up. Being on the local team was a rewarding experience: I made lots of friends and had a great time.
Welcoming people from all over the nation to Triennium was a real joy. When you are sharing God's love, you can see it in someone's eyes and face. The way their eyes light up and a huge smile comes across their features: you can feel God's warm embrace at that moment. You can feel God around you; you can feel that you are spreading God's love. There is nothing better to me than loving your neighbor and I was able to do that.
As for being a participant, I have two big memories: One was the world market and the other was the events in Elliott Hall of Music. At the world market, it was amazing to see all of the ways God works in the world; how each culture reflects different aspects of love, peace, and community.
Elliott Hall was where our worship services were held: Imagine yourself surrounded by thousands of people your age as you feel God's magnificence in that moment. It was breathtaking: feeling completely loved. Worship at Triennium was an experience I will never forget. The sense of community from all of us from around the world was astounding. I have never been more moved or so inspired by God than when I was at Triennium.
Going to Triennium is a no brainer. GO. Just GO. Just Do It. You will never regret it. If you are strong in your faith it will make you stronger. If you are wavering in your faith, it will lift you up. Triennium helps you understand that you are not alone in your journey with God. The path at times isn't easy, but to be surrounded at Triennium by teens from all over the world lets you know that there will always be someone beside you to help and lend a hand.
With all that is happening in the world today, we need to know that we are not alone and we are no longer strangers in our walk of faith. Going to Triennium opens your eyes to the vastness of God's grace. Triennium is an opportunity you do not want to miss. So: Go!

NEW LOGO IDEA CONTEST
|
|
There are some changes going on at Presbytery of Wabash Valley and we want you to be a part of them!
|
WANTED: IDEAS FOR A PRESBYTERY LOGO
Inspired by the Revelation 22:1-2 scripture:
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations (ethnoi).
And reflective on our Presbytery Mission Study Statement:
Nourished by the living waters of Jesus Christ, we awaken, enliven, and enhance worshiping communities to courageously extend their branches and bear new fruit in the Spirit.
We are asking for ideas for a logo, a symbol of who we are and the new way God is leading us.
We know there are many creative, inspired people in our Presbytery who may want to submit a sketch or idea which represents who we are as the people of God.
An anonymous donor will give $100 to the chosen graphic designer.
The other change we would like you to help with is renaming the weekly eNews "God Call". No prize is being offered for this but we know there are many of you with some great ideas. We would like to hear them.
Just, send your idea or design to vicki@ourpresbytery.org between now and April 1, 2016. After April 1st Council will narrow the designs to the top three which will then be posted online for your votes. May the best design win!

DON'T HAVE PASTORAL LEADERSHIP? NEED SOMEONE TO SERVE COMMUNION?
Just a reminder that the Presbytery Assembly commissioned four trained and experienced ruling elders to serve communion at the request of Session for small congregations without pastoral leadership who cannot find a teaching elder to serve them on a Sunday morning. They are:
COM has corrected its November minutes and report to Assembly to require reimbursement of mileage by congregations for all travel to congregations by ruling elders commissioned to special pastoral service with minimum compensation of $100 for leading worship and preaching, and $50 for just presiding at the communion table.

Thinking as Stewards Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 1Peter 4:10 I was talking with a friend about gifts. I was struggling to identify my own, and she said, like it was completely obvious to her, that I had a gift for listening. Once I thought about it, I realized that listening carefully and well is something I love to do. I have been part of a compassionate listening ministry for the past couple of years, and it truly has brought me great joy. I hadn't thought about my love of listening in terms of a spiritual gift, but it made sense. What are your gifts? How will you share them with others? Reprinted from Forward Day by Day
