Passage to Ponder... 1 Peter 4:7-10
The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

PRAYERS of the PRESBYTERY
| | |
God of peace, we pray that people of different faiths can dialogue with one another to promote understanding, seek commonalities, and celebrate differences. May people of all faiths work together for peace and to put an end to poverty and injustice in our world.
Please lift those listed below in prayer:
- The family of Rev. John Gregg, Estancia, NM who had served from 1971-1978 at St John's Church Chesterton, who passed away on July 8th.
- for those who suffer in silence
- all who have been affected by the flooding
We pray for and with Hudson, Salem Center Presbyterian Church who has faithfully served their community and followed you Lord since August 10, 1839.
Amen.

August 8 is almost here!
Things are in place and planned for Growing Together. I hope you have registered for the small church workshop, but, if not, please do so by tomorrow, July 23rd when registration will close. This is a great opportunity to approach issues common to the church from the special perspective of the small church. Facilitator Dennis Bickers brings a wealth of knowledge on this subject along with experience presenting this material.
We have a good group registered at this point, but there are several names absent from the list. If one of those names is yours, please take this opportunity to register using the link below. One congregation has 12 registered - let's see if there is a congregation to register even more.
The workshop is being subsidized, so the cost is only $10 per person or to take advantage of the best value of $25.00 complete one form per congregation with each participant named.
Need help with registration please feel free to contact the Presbytery office at 574-223-5678.
Registration will close on Thursday, July 23

Regarding ruling elders:
ruling elders building community
Office of the General Assembly
Irene Pak
One of my favorite aspects about being Presbyterian is that no matter what we are called to do within the life of the church, we are called to do it in community. We know that being called to do things together sometimes makes things a lot easier and sometimes more difficult, depending on how we like to work, but in the life of the church, we are called to "do" and to "be" church together. Sundays and Seasons: Vibrant Worship Planning
A 90-minute webinar presented by Michael Waschevski
Tuesday, August 25 at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT)
Excellent worship is key for a spiritually alive and healthy congregation and for each member's spiritual growth and effectiveness as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Congregations have much at stake in planning and providing such worship. In this webinar we will engage in focused exploration and practice in planning for both weekly and seasonally significant worship. Participants will: - Appreciate the interrelatedness of various elements and movements within a typical Lord's Day service.
- Understand different musical styles and genres and their significance in worship.
- Consider opportunities and obstacles encountered in planning engaging, educational worship.
- Plan a Lord's Day service using lectionary texts for a typical Sunday in Ordinary Time (October 11, 2015).
- Explore several ideas for deepening congregational worship in the upcoming cycle of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany

Every week, we publish this eNewsletter to hundreds of Wabash Valley and PC(USA) members and also post online! The Church Relations Coordinator accepts articles for entry and is always actively seeking new and original content sharing how your congregation is engaged in ministry. We would especially like to share photo's and stories of your confirmands, new members, VBS, mission trips and other special ministries that are occurring in your congregation and community. Please forward your stories and photos to vicki@ourpresbytery.org, due each Friday.
