Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Has the harsh Indiana winter weather gotten you down?
Are your eyes glazed with cabin fever?
Have we got the antidote for you!
Come to the warmth of Geneva Center and to the light of our next Presbytery Assembly on Tuesday, February 25. The fellowship of God's people will thaw your hearts, minds and spirits and give the lie to the myth that Presbyterians are God's "frozen chosen." Anyone who has ever tried to gavel a Presbytery Assembly to order will tell you how glad Presbyterians are to see one another and how much laughter attends our table conversations.
We will pray together, worship together, discuss scripture together, and do the work of presbytery together. Among other things, we will commission Ruling Elder Charles Fortney as pastoral leader of the Lake Village Presbyterian Church, receive an update on our mission co-workers in Egypt, hear the word from Gretchen Seidler-Gibbs, consider the possibility of dissolving the Attica-Williamsport congregation, and receive an

update from the Joshua Journey II group on the future of our presbytery.
We hope that commissioners from your church will be on hand to help us make decisions and to hear about our common work together.
Please indicate your intention to be with us by registering online through the link "Register Now".
I look forward to seeing you soon and breaking bread with you.
Grace and peace,
Jeff Cover, Moderator (Teaching Elder, Central, Lafayette)

Prayers of the Presbytery
Lord, God help us take the steps to build a more just community, one where difference is respected and all people can join hands and rejoice in the common good. Be ever present in the minds of those of who seek you and long for your healing, comfort and tender care.
We hold Spiritual Director Rev. Marcia Smith-Wood, Ote and family in pray as they support each other in the passing of brother in-law Tom.
May we surround Rev. Catherine Moran, Member at Large, and her family in prayer as we offer sympathy upon the loss of her mother-in-law and as she cares for her parents' health concerns.
Thank you in advance for your prayers as Gladys Sargent, PWV Office Manager, recovers from today's shoulder surgery due to a fall that also gave her a beautiful black eye.
We hold CRE Barbara Wirt, Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, in prayer as she undergoes knee replacement surgery on Friday, February 21.
Please continue your prayers of healing for Rev. Jack Hess, Honorably Retired, as he recovers from a wound that developed from a surgery last year.
We pray for and with Earl Park Presbyterian Church as they faithfully serve the community and have followed you since 1842.
Through the mercy of God, we pray. Amen.

- One-third of active (non-retired) Presbyterian teaching elders (35%) are women, a percentage that has been steadily increasing. In 2004, women represented 30% of active ministers.
- A minority of Presbyterian congregations (20%) are without pastoral leadership. The majority of congregations (52%) have an installed pastor, while 27% use other pastoral leadership (e.g., commissioned ruling elders, interim pastors, retired ministers, and other temporary pastors).
