Last Week is Sunday, May 29

The Green Exchange Plant Sale is now extended through May 29. Many new plants are coming in this week and prices are reduced. This popular fund raiser is a wonderful way to share the wealth of your garden. There is a large supply of garden pots near the back of the garden, help yourself and fill them with divisions of your garden plants which we will sell for $5 each.

Your Chance to Make a Green Gift to Our Church This Summer

Our Memorial Garden gets considerable use and attention during the summer--weddings,funerals, thirsty birds, Main St. neighbors, our own summer services.  For the last 51 years of the garden's life, our volunteers have provided its caretaking with a session of watering, weeding, cutting off flowers no longer beautiful, filling the bird bath.

Here's how: we volunteers choose one week during the summer when we come for a morning or an afternoon of attention--just one visit during the summer, in company with kids, or a friend, or solo.   Can you join us in this effort?   We'll have our signup sheet in the Garden this Sunday; we have openings in July and August which we'd love to fill.  Rank amateurs are welcome: we'll provide directions, and you get the satisfaction of leaving the garden better than you found it!    If you want to volunteer and won't be in church this week, contact nancymacwilson@yahoo.com

Early Bird Coffee & Conversation
hot_aromatic_coffee.jpg

Before worship on Sunday morning some friendly folks can be found enjoying coffee and conversation in the dining room.  They gather around 9:30 a.m. or a wee bit later.  That's when the coffee is ready.  So, show up, pull up a chair, join some talkers and help warm the place with enjoyable chatter on range of subjects. In the joyful rush for coffee and treats after worship, the busy atmosphere can inhibit opportunities to get to know others more deeply.  Early bird coffee is one way to engage with friendly people.  Church school teachers, those on church committees or in leadership roles are encouraged to show up periodically and converse with those  gathered.
