Easter Sunday Service
"Awake to Love"
Preaching: The Rev. Sarah C. Stewart
Our highest values and our deepest grounding are calling us. They are calling us to more love, more justice, and more empathy for each other and the earth. They are calling us out of the tombs of our despair and on to new life, even when we are terrified because we don't yet know where we are going.

Baby Rockers Needed
Deborah Levering Faith Development Ministries First Unitarian Church Worcester UUA
We are delighted with the sweet babies and toddlers hanging out in our nursery on Sunday mornings. From now through June, we would be grateful to have an adult volunteer each Sunday to help with the care of our tiniest ones. I would like to create a schedule of folks who are interested in being a baby rocker once or twice between now and June. If you love children and are tickled by the idea of playing and cooing with our itty-bitties, please be in touch with me. Deborah Levering, dlevering@firstunitarian.com

Early Bird Coffee & Conversion
Before worship on Sunday morning some friendly folks can be found
hot_aromatic_coffee.jpg
enjoying coffee and conversation in the dining room.  They gather around 9:30 or a wee bit later.  That's when the coffee is ready.  So, show up, pull up a chair, join some talkers and help warm the place with enjoyable chatter on range of subjects. In the joyful rush for coffee and treats after worship, the busy atmosphere can inhibit opportunities to get to know others more deeply.  Early bird coffee is one way to engage with friendly people. Church school teachers, those on church committees or in leadership roles are encouraged to show up periodically and converse with those  gathered.

April 9 Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards CD Release Party!  Hip Swayers Trio and Smith & Ryder, opening acts.  Come for a night of dynamic night of music.

Nick Noble, Host of THE FOLK REVIVAL, WICN,  describes Mark and Raianne as: "Blending distinctive voices and a wide range of accompaniment (guitar, harmonica, ukulele, clarinet, penny whistle, electric bass), their songs have been well-received by audiences around the eastern United States since 2010.Transcending the genre of folk Americana, their music echoes inspiration from traditional folk duos and singer/songwriters like Ian & Sylvia, Kate Wolf and Neil Young - combining beautiful harmonies and a lyrical intensity, while establishing a unique sound of their own.

Their new CD, Grain by Grain, demonstrates an ever progressive richness in songwriting and performance. From the opening title song through its closing track-"Across the Morning"-it is an exemplar of what modern Americana can and should be. I maintain (and still do) that Mark and Raianne's previous CD-Hard Times & Woes-is one of those rare singularly perfect albums, but with Grain by Grain this talented duo takes it all to a new level, rivaling their earlier effort with terrific original songs beautifully presented.

May 21--Cosmic Slim and His Intergalactic Plowboys, opening acts-Arny Spielberg and Melody Sizer.
