Faith Development News

Our children and youth need you!

Time to look ahead at faith development opportunities for the fall.  Our children's program is growing by leaps and bounds and we need volunteers. Please consider donating your time to our children and/or youth programs for 2015-16.  We are looking for adults, with or without children in our programs, to help in these ways:

  • Teaching on a Teaching Team (pre-school - 8th grade)
  • Being a Safety Monitor/Family Greeter (once a month)
  • Being member of the Children's Chapel Team (3 times/yr.)
  • Being a Youth Advisor (ongoing) or a Coming of Age Mentor (Jan-June '16)

Feel free to speak to Deborah Levering or Abby Hannaford-Ricardi if you have questions. There is a display board in the Bancroft room with more information and signup spaces. If you are interested or curious about the Youth Advisor or Coming of Age Mentor positions, please contact me directly at dlevering@firstunitarian.com.

2015/2016 Goal Setting Workshop - THIS SUNDAY

The Lay Leadership Program Committee will be hosting its 2015/2016 Goal Setting Workshop on Sunday, June 14 from noon to 3 p.m.  The purpose of the workshop is to set specific, measurable, and meaningful goals for the following year.  It is an opportunity for committees and groups to think about what they want to accomplish next year and how that fits with other activities at First U.  All First U members are invited.

The LLPC will provide a lunch to attendees.  The workshop will begin promptly at noon in the Chapel and we will serve lunch during the workshop.

Please feel free to pass this invitation along to anyone in the church that think would be interested.

If you would like to attend the workshop, please RSVP by return email to  kmandile@swissturn.com or by using this Google form (preferred method.)

This offers the occasion for a Garden Party, and we shall serve appropriate refreshments. We want you to know how the garden came to be established, and the names of some plant and feature donors through the years If you have some garden history to contribute to our (archival paper!) garden record book,  please come to share it.  If you would like to be on the host team for this event, let us know.  Kate O'Dell,  Nancy Wilson, Mary Mcalister,
