Faith Development News Our children and youth need you!
Time to look ahead at faith development opportunities for the fall. Our children's program is growing by leaps and bounds and we need volunteers. Please consider donating your time to our children and/or youth programs for 2015-16. We are looking for adults, with or without children in our programs, to help in these ways:
- Teaching on a Teaching Team (pre-school - 8th grade)
- Being a Safety Monitor/Family Greeter (once a month)
- Being member of the Children's Chapel Team (3 times/yr.)
- Being a Youth Advisor (ongoing) or a Coming of Age Mentor (Jan-June '16)
Feel free to speak to Deborah Levering or Abby Hannaford-Ricardi if you have questions. There is a display board in the Bancroft room with more information and signup spaces. If you are interested or curious about the Youth Advisor or Coming of Age Mentor positions, please contact me directly at dlevering@firstunitarian.com.

UU Sisterhood Annual Retreat

The UU Sisterhood returned last week from their annual retreat in Kennebunkport, ME! The weather cooperated (for the most part) and the retreat was great fun as well as spiritually fulfilling. The weekend included a Zentangle class, a guided meditation session, a presentation on Shiatsu Massage and a trip to the First Parish UU Church of Kennebunk on Sunday morning.
Any woman of the church is welcome to join the UU Sisterhood for next year's monthly potlucks and events. The potlucks are at 6:00 pm on the Third Friday of each month and include an after dinner program.
If you would like to attend the potlucks and learn more about other UU Sisterhood events, please send your email address to Diane Mandile at dmmandile@swissturn.com and she will add you to the mailing list!

Many people have asked to have these continue this year; they were so much fun the last few years, and we thank Kris Johnson still for initiating and organizing them. This year they will be 4 to 6 pm, when gardens aren't quite to wilted-should be really lovely and a nice chance for community. They'll occur any week it isn't storming. Our hosts so far include:
June 14, Nancy Riggs
June 21, Diane Mandile
July 12, Marjorie Connelly
July 19, Mary McALister
July 26, The Miricks
August 30, Kate O'Dell
So there are several open Sundays for this fun event-you don't have to have a perfect garden; it mostly about being together outside. Please email Christine Samuelson (csamuelson@hammondre.com), Mary McAlister (maryalmc@gmail.com), or Kate O'Dell (odellkk@gmail.com) to sign up, and hope to see you June 14th!
