Spring is Here

To our East Coast colleagues, I'm sure knowing that Spring is here is a delight with all of the inclement weather you enjoyed this winter. So here's a toast to change. This month we talk about embracing change and being passionate about the changes that have come about in marketing strategy the past decade. In case you didn't know, Twitter was only founded in March of 2006. The revolution in digital marketing has continued. Whether you like it or not, it's here to stay.

So, in this issue, I address some tips to help you get started in this new digital world.

Be Passionate About Marketing

Have your marketing tactics changed in the last 5 to 7 years? If not, then you should get up to date on some of the new digital marketing techniques available.

Being classically trained in marketing, I know that some of you are probably having difficulty embracing "digital" marketing. it really isn't all that difficult. Just don't get overwhelmed. Keep trying new things, test, and see what works for you and what doesn't. But, above all, be patient. Here are some tips to help you get started:

It's time to embrace marketing research and change your attitude about it. In this article, I note several ways you can do market research inexpensively if you are on a tight budget. Market research will either confirm your company is heading in the right direction or it can give you some valuable insights and help you strategically change direction, if necessary.
