First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare
Two days remain to see a copy of one of the world's rarest and most valuable books - Shakespeare's First Folio. The nearly 400-year-old book is on display until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, in the Missouri Valley Room on the fifth floor of the Central Library.

Twelfth Night Speaker Series - Heart of America Shakespeare Festival
Adam Potthast of Park University discusses Twelfth Night and the Ethics of Deception, concluding a series of inside-the-play presentations focusing on the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival's summer production of the mistaken-identity comedy.

Summer's Biggest and Best Film Series

The Library screens five films in July that not only reached summer blockbuster status - totaling nearly $1.3 billion in domestic ticket sales - but also rank among the all-time best big-screen offerings of the season, according to critics.

Shakespeare: Setting the Stage
This exhibit - part of the Library's 2016 celebration of Shakespeare - showcases a collection of costumes and sets from various presentations by Kansas City's Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, along with representations of scenes in which the costumes were worn.

Second Time Around: The Hubcap as Art
Artists across the world were invited by Landfillart, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit, to transform hundreds of discarded hubcaps into fine art. More than a thousand responded, and 35 of the best works make up this unique, thought-provoking traveling exhibit.
