1939: Hollywood's Greatest Year - Robert W. Butler
Film critic Robert W. Butler kicks off the Library's yearlong celebration of the films of 1939 with a discussion of how, in a single year, Hollywood produced Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Ninotchka, Stagecoach, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and other classics.

Stargazing

For more than 30 years John C. Tibbetts has attended Hollywood film junkets, not only interviewing stars but also creating portraits that his subjects signed. This exhibit features more than 80 of his favorite celebrity depictions.

Guerrillas in Our Midst

This original exhibit from the Library's Missouri Valley Special Collections employs vintage photographs and illustrations to tell the story of the border conflict that raged between Missouri and Kansas before, during, and after the
Civil War.

New Compositions: The Dance Portraiture of Orval Hixon

This exhibit highlights the local legend's rich selection of photographic portraits, including images of some of the best-known dancers of his time.
