All Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 24 and remain closed on Tuesday, December 25 for Christmas.

New Year's Eve Celebration
Celebrate the new year a little early at Friday Night Family Fun! Enjoy a New Year's Eve Party for kids, complete with crafts, stories, games, and other activities. We will count down to "midnight" and ring in the New Year. All ages are welcome.

Depicting Dickens

This collection of illustrations, photographs, and objects (Doulton figurines, ash trays, teapots) demonstrates the far-flung influences of Charles Dickens' robust, indelible, and often grotesque characters.

The long and colorful history of the Kansas City Police Department is examined in this exhibit featuring images from the Library's Missouri Valley Special Collections.

Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow: Living With the Atomic Bomb, 1945-65

This exhibit looks at how everyday citizens during the Cold War responded to the constant threat of nuclear war at home, at school, in their communities, and at play.
