Friday, December 21 - 10:00 a.m. Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. Santa Visit Bring your lists for Santa and join in a holiday sing-a-long, listen to your favorite stories, and make your very own snow globe or decorative votive candle holder to take home. Then, follow us down to the Film Vault to watch a short video. Appropriate for children up to age 6.

Friday, December 21 - 6:30 p.m. Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. Friday Night Family Fun - Holiday Tea This program features a lesson on etiquette, snacks served on fine china, and a visit from Father Christmas! Fancy holiday dress is requested. All ages are welcome. Due to limited space registration is required.

December 1 - December 31, 2012 Waldo Branch, 201 E. 75th St. Depicting Dickens This collection of illustrations, photographs, and objects (Doulton figurines, ash trays, teapots) demonstrates the far-flung influences of Charles Dickens' robust, indelible, and often grotesque characters.

November 28, 2012 - June 30, 2013 Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. Kansas City's Finest The long and colorful history of the Kansas City Police Department is examined in this exhibit featuring images from the Library's Missouri Valley Special Collections.

November 10, 2012 - January 6, 2013 Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow: Living With the Atomic Bomb, 1945-65 This exhibit looks at how everyday citizens during the Cold War responded to the constant threat of nuclear war at home, at school, in their communities, and at play.
