MEDC Announces Two New MicroGrants for Small Businesses

The Morton Economic Development Council is pleased to announce that The Great American Popcorn Company of Morton and Heartland Veterinary Clinic have both been awarded Morton MicroGrants.

The Great American Popcorn Company is one of the newest businesses to set up shop in downtown Morton and has proved to be a great addition. The Great American Popcorn Company contributes to the trend of new activity and construction in the Downtown District. The Morton MicroGrant will be used to help them secure some final additions of equipment.

Heartland Veterinary Clinic has been in downtown Morton for eight years and has seen a surge of new clientele over that time span. Because of this, Dr. Micheal Sandborn is looking to expand his veterinary services by moving to a new location on Detroit Avenue. The Morton MicroGrant will assist in purchasing kennels to be used in the new location.

The Morton MicroGrant provides small grants of up to $5,000 to for-profit business owners who are interested in starting, improving or growing a business here in Morton. The Morton MicroGrant is funded through a direct investment with the Morton EDC made by the Morton Community Bank.

Businesses interested in using the Morton MicroGrant Program should contact the MEDC via email at [email protected] for additional information.
