This month, I am so delighted to invite you to our Art Exhibition, SCRAP Art: Creative Reuse in the Bayview. The Exhibition will feature 68 pieces of creative reuse artwork created by 41 artists connected to the Bayview. This year, we are partnering with two great community nonprofits, Building Resources and Public Glass to highlight the amazing artwork of our amazing community artists. The exhibition will feature four different events in the two exhibition locations. I hope to see you at our exhibition opening this Thursday at The Reclaimed Room at Building Resources. We'll also be hosting a family friendly hands on creativity day there, a closing reception at Public Glass with a creative reuse project as well as engaging the Bayview Community by hosting creative reuse projects at the popular 3rd on Third events.
SCRAP's art exhibitions are always so amazing because of the range and creativity of the artwork. Check out Clint Imboden's spheres created out of used hacksaw blades, emiko oye's intricate lego jewelry, Mariana Nelson's yarn ball interpretation of computer code, Maureen Delema's shattered glass mosaic sculpture and so much more.
We couldn't have done this great work without the collaboration of our wonderful community partners, the hard work of our amazing Exhibition and Program Coordinator, Jenny Morningstar and funding from the San Francisco Arts Commission and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission through a Community Arts in Bayview grant.
Hope to see you at one of our exhibition events,
Shuai Chen
