Last night we started the Scouting trail with our first ever Tiger Den meeting.  We had 1/2 dozen boys at the meeting and the experienced den leaders in the Pack led everything.  Myself and a dad who grew up doing the Scouting program in India volunteered to be Den Leaders.  How could they turn me down since I was wearing a Cub Scout t-shirt that I've been saving for years just for this moment.

Tonight is the drawing in my first ever free sweepstakes giveaway.  It's not too late to enter your name if you haven't already.  Just follow this link and it asks for your name and email.  At 11 PM EST the software will randomly pick a winner.  Sounds like fun!
Order of the Arrow Auctions Live on eBay
It's a brave strategy to start a lot of 50 OA flaps and set the minimum bid at $9.99.  But I like the roll the dice mentality that lets the bidding get rolling.  When you see a listing with 20+ bids it is a natural attention getter.  The bidding on that Abooikpaagun flap is also heating up - must be the affection for the cute totem.
Scouting Auctions Ending Soon on eBay
Those of us who grew up in the 1980s (hello generation X) might be tempted to bid on the Smurfs patch.  If you don't go for that pop culture connection then the nice early Eagle medal might be more up your alley.

I don't know that during the 2015-16 school year if I ran a single auction.  This year I've turned things around and have been averaging 100 live auctions each week including some that are ending tonight on eBay.  With one consignment I'm trying to get up 25 new listings per night and that is helping get me in a rhythm.
When I got in the OA at the Brotherhood Board there was a classic question they used to ask. If you had a troop camping trip scheduled the same weekend as an OA event which one would you attend.  I think most of you know the answer.  I'll have that dilemna myself at the end of October when my lodge Fall Fellowship falls on the same weekend as the Cub Pack family camping trip.  I've been to Belk Scout Reservation twice for Dixie Fellowships (2004, 2015) but this will quite a different experience!

Yours in Scouting,
