I am going to attempt to just send out one copy of the Hot Finds today from the new email address that I'm using jason@ScoutingHotFinds.com. My hope is that most of you got the message that I've changed from the Gmail address that I've been using for a few years. Thanks for being a loyal reader!
Vintage Boy Scout Memorabilia Up First
The lead off listing below is poorly worded - "vet"? but well worth clicking on as the bidders have figured out what this guy has. The camporee patch below is a 1 known which explains the bidding war that is playing out for a tough East Carolina issue.
It looks like an antique dealer got lucky. The seller of the late 1950s era North Carolina OA pictured below has three pieces up that may have fallen into his hands. It's wonderful how so many patches get recycled back into the hobby through eBay.
I don't know if that frame of metalbadges would fit in the collection of many readers but since it's up in the BSA category and getting bids I stuck it in.
I decided to take an entire sales album in my Facebook store and throw it up on eBay to see what happens in the auction format. This one features vintage Carolina OA and all the auctions end late Thursday night. I've even got a few $100 flaps that I started at $10! :)
Today I will start packing for the Occoneechee TOR. With all the family stuff going on last year and moving this will be the first one I've attended in a long time. But maybe more importantly when I get home Saturday I'm picking up my son Patrick to scoot over to a Boy Scout event (his first!). A local church is celebrating 75 years of Scouting history and they are having a big weekend that includes a dinner Saturday night. I've been in touch with the Cubmaster and this seems like the natural fit Pack for him to register in as a Tiger Cub. They recruit his elementary school so we might can form that little pack of kids starting off in 1st grade that he can climb the trail with.
