eBay Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter
Friday Morning Edition
August 12, 2016

Well just in case you didn't hear the news that thrilled the hobby last night I'll share the results.  At 7:13 PM the Air Scout Ace Type 1 medal ended on eBay and shattered some preconceived notions.  It's always great to see the passion and interest that a truly unique piece of memorabilia in this collecting community can bring out.  I for one was happy to see it and for the nice close up pictures that I'll have for reference that the seller posted.
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
This weekend I'm going to press the launch button on several hundred more Jamboree patch auctions.  I think I'll throw some up tonight and the rest on Sunday to spread things out a little.  To make room in my store I want to move out some council patches so I'm running a 1/2 off sale.  I've got over 1200 issues with many marked down below $3.

Big Sale Running In My eBay Store This Weekend
Auctions ending Friday and Saturday on eBay
Now that I am back to being a full-time eBay seller a perk will be attending some TORs.  The first one I've got tables for is coming up next weekend at Camp Durant hosted by Occoneechee Lodge 104.  The tables are sold out so it should be a good one!  I need to work on my calendar and see what else is within reasonable driving distance.
Boy Scout Memorabilia Auctions on eBay
The Summit published a video to YouTube yesterday by the Wheels Department.  This short video featured the Girl Scouts that camped at the Summit in June including my troop. You can see your Hot Finds editor in the video along with my daughter (tiger t-shirt).  Sophia also made a 1 second cameo in their end of year remix video.  Good memories and we will be back next summer!
Santeeswapper eBay Store at Patchblanket.com
This week on Facebook I've been posting some really odd stuff including ceramic tiles, ashtrays, and a 50+ year old BSA duffel bag.  As I continue to go through boxes I've been snapping pictures and trying to move stuff out the door.  The strangest thing I sold was a BSA chocolate mold.  :)  You can find thousands of items in my sales albums at www.ScoutPatchHQ.com.
I have included a picture here of one of the prizes of my collection - an Air Scout Ace Medal.  Something like 700ish of these medals were earned by Scouts during the time the Air Scout program was around before the BSA dropped this award.  The major difference with the one that sold last night is the ribbon - the actual medal part is identical.  To say that the color scheme on a ribbon is worth a price value of $20,000 is incredible.
Have a great weekend,
