Later today I'll be traveling to Camp Coker to see an awesome local tradition. For over 50 years my OA lodge has run a week of summer camp for OA members and it culminates in an original outdoor drama performed in our council ring at dusk. The pageant as we call it kicks off our Summer Fellowship and I've got a kitchen pass to stay for the entire weekend. Yeah me!
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
This block has several really neat Scouting books up for bids. I'm going to run a giveaway next week for the prices realized book that I did on that subject a few years back. The book is in full color and I will include the cd version with it. Look for details in next week's Hot Finds.
Two different sellers have awesome auctions from my neck of the woods in today's OA featured block. At one time that 1953 Dixie would go for upwards of $300 but I don't know if this one will bring that today.
In my antique mall store I actually took a box of the Rockwell prints pictured below and sold them individually. I put each print in archival sleeves and have sold quite a few. You never know what's going to sell in a location like that.
Buyers have been picking off items all week during my 30% off OA sale in my eBay store. Last night I started showing my daughter how to do shipping so she can help with the family business. She is the only 12 year old in America who doesn't have a phone (her words) so she is going to have to earn it the old fashioned way (with a job!).
I've pictured some patches here that are big on my needs list. If you are sitting on any of these Air Explorer patches shoot me an email. These are the funky ones with no wording. Everyone agrees there is no Air Scout Ace (4 propellers) in this design. I want to thank again Russell Smart for allowing me to see his collection last year and shooting this picture. I have some other needs that I'll feature in future editions of the newsletter but these are pretty high on the list.
