It's Friday so I must be running another sale in my eBay store. This one is on the inventory of 1000+ council activity patches I have for sale. I probably have another 2-3 boxes of these type of patches waiting to get on the eBay store so I'm looking to make room on the shelf. In the eBay store my inventory has dropped below 7,000 so that's a sign that I'm making progress thinning it out and getting ready for my summer project to launch new listings.
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
Ok don't tell my wife but I bought a new tent for camping. I think I can slip it past her except that I'm about to go on a quick weekend trip with the kids and I am a little worried that it will be delivered while I'm gone. Kinda hard to miss a big box showing up on the porch and the inevitable question - "what have you bought this time?" Me and the kids are about to going camping for a week in the NC mountains and my old tent was a 20 year old dry rotted mess .
This week I've been working on the "patch cave" and got several more sets of shelves built. I posted a picture in the SPC Facebook group and got some others to contribute pictures of their Boy Scout man caves. Bob Sherman and Larry Faulkner were two of the collectors that shared. Mike Gosling has updated his book on world Boy Scout Insignia and I have a link in case you want to check it out. I've been following him on Facebook and he made an announcement earlier in the week. I own a copy of the older version that was in black and white but came with a CD in color. Looks like the book is in full color now. It's amazing how far the technology has come to print books like this in the hobby.
Just this week as I was unpacking boxes I was posting things up to Facebook to move them to new homes. I placed a couple of small Boy Scout plaques, a tervis tumbler and have a coupe of royal ranger patches on their way to Belgium! All my Facebook items for sale can be found at www.ScoutPatchHQ.com .
I don't use this newsletter to make trades very often so I'll try and start something new this time. I've got several of the SPC centennial jacket patches that I'd like to trade. I'll take any other interesting Boy Scout jacket patch or a couple of OA flaps, JSPs etc for one. Send me an email if you want to get one and let's trade through the mail. I am looking to forward to getting some patch mail in my new mailbox.
