Earlier this week I reported on the fire that destroyed the Central States Scout Museum in Kansas. Ryan Meador has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help. The building was insured but not the contents. This website allows you to send money via credit card and the charity will receive the funds. You can also leave a message with your pledge.

There was some discussion in the SPC about what could be sent to help in Kansas. Ryan indicated that a big need would be displays and mannequins. Although no patches will be refused and it's possible that many of you have items you'd like to donate. You can reach Ryan Meador via email if you think you can assist.
On a side note many folks in the hobby know Mark Graff who is a big dealer out of Florida that attends numerous TORs. I've enjoyed following his extended vacation in Costa Rica as he posts daily on Facebook. It seems as if Mark and his wife have intentions of retiring to a sunny Latin American country and being beach bums. It sounds like fun - you can follow him here if you don't mind being jealous every once in awhile.
I got two big needs in the mail yesterday for my senior scouting collection. One was an Explorer Assistant Adviser patch on dark blue. The other was an Air Scout scribe patch with the crossed quills on baby blue. It's not every day (or week) that I get holes filled so that was great. What made it better is that I was able to trade for those in the SPC and didn't have to spend any $.
Every week I try and run a special sale in my eBay store. This week it's 50% off one of my largest categories. You can get steep discounts on my inventory of SAPs and CSPs by going to this link on my store at www.Patchblanket.com.
Today me and the kids are looking at 5 different houses in Charlotte and it's likely that one will be the final pick. Ironically all 5 are zoned for different elementary schools so it's quite the jigsaw puzzle.
