Tomorrow I'm planning on clearing off a work space in my office and shuffling all the patches that have come in for the OA activity blind trade. The goal is to get everyone all different patches from what they sent in. I think it will be a fun challenge to pull it off. When you love playing with patches it's not really work at all.
Vintage Boy Scout Memorabilia Up First
March has been an exceptionally good month at my antique mall booths. I don't know if its just the time of year when snow birds start heading north or what. My store located in Florence, SC at Palmetto Peddlers has seen more sales this month than in the first 2 months of the year combined. The Lumberton, NC store is lagging but it's also a bit smaller. One of the interesting conversations I've had with a couple of dealers lately is about strategies. When I get my podcast going again (maybe this summer!) I'm sure to have some shows on that topic. Many of us need to sell patches in order to support our habit and there are many different ways to do this in the hobby today.
I'm open to other ideas for show topics. In case anyone is new for several years I produced an audio only podcast that ran for over 70 episodes. All of them are in iTunes and you can find them on www.BlogTalkRadio.com.
It looks like sales on eBay work. The one that I ran this past weekend helped me move out over 100 OA issues into the hands of other collectors. I'll probably pick a few more categories to fire up this week.
It's getting to be crunch time for getting the house listed in anticipation for moving this summer. We have finished 99% of the small projects and over spring break (starts Friday!) we will finish packing away the clutter. I hope that in less than 10 days we will have a sign in the yard.
