I got a little excited yesterday working on my merit badge collection and emailing back and forth with Fred Duersch. That led me to put in some bids on nice merit badge sashes live on eBay. Already I've been outbid on a few which I guess is just part of the game. I'm looking for bargains but they aren't always easy to find.

one of the sashes that I was in play for is listed below. The problem here is I only care about the MBs but it also has a faded felt Jamboree patch and some nice old local felts. I don't know if that is what is driving it over my head but I'll just have to keep looking.
So yesterday after school I checked my email and out of the blue was somebody sending me pictures of patches. No name, no introduction just images - and among them was one of my biggest OA needs! I about said a bad word in the school house. Turns out somebody is looking to part with some stuff and got a recommendation to contact me. Must be my lucky day!
So to finish the story I called the guy last night after getting his information and we had a nice talk. He was well informed and knew what past sales of this item had gone for. I bit the bullet and agreed to pay his price which will finish me out for that lodge. I can't reveal any more details right now because the deal hasn't been completed but I'm a happy camper. I'll gloat in a future email when I have the patch in hand.
All this week I've been running a sale on my more than 2k OA pieces in my eBay store. You can get all my WWW patches for 15% off if you click over to Patchblanket.com.
This weekend I'm doing some heavy duty cleaning with the wife. We are going to be going through closets sorting out what stays and what goes and my favorite going through years of bills and papers to decide what needs to be saved. She told me to go buy a shredder before I come home today. Oh joy!
