Friday Morning Edition
September 11, 2015

Yesterday one of my students mentioned to me that today is Sept 11.  She got me to thinking that my 6th, 7th, and 8th graders were not born when that tragedy happened and perhaps they don't know the whole story or more importantly have never considered how our country (and the world) changed after that event.  Would there be an ISIS controlling 1/2 of Iraq if there was no Iraq War?  Trying to get my students to see there are turning points in history (cause/effect) and this date is one of them.
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
This weekend I hope to find time to take my NOAC inventory and flip it over for fixed price sale on eBay.  I've still got several boxes that never sold after running auctions for a month and so it's time to play the long game of putting them in my eBay store and seeing what can attract a B-I-N.
Auctions ending Friday and Saturday on eBay
I am declaring the OA Centennial unofficially over.  From everything I can tell the build up was all building to NOAC and now that we are on the other side of that the whole category seems flat to me.  I can't get anybody to bite on purchasing the centennial items that we made for the Facebook group.  So I might be exaggerating but it seems like the last four months of the Centennial will be very quiet compared to the long build up towards NOAC.
Boy Scout Memorabilia Auctions on eBay
The meeting that I hosted for Scout leaders at my church went very well this week.  My door prizes were also a big hit including an old Girl Scout songbook and a vintage copy of the Boy Scout Field Book.  We got our plans nailed down and had some very good conversations that might not have otherwise happened.
Santeeswapper Patchblanket eBay Store
If all goes as planned (but it rarely does lol) I will start a cycle of maybe 50 new auctions every week running Sunday-Sunday.  That will require me squeezing in some patch time this weekend despite my son's 6th Birthday party on Saturday and soccer games.  Wish me luck on that one.

I had a visit from a fellow collector yesterday who has recently moved to the area.  We got to look through some of my collection and make a few trades as he is working on his collection of Klahican Lodge 331.  It's not often I get patch visitors and my kids were less than patient with dad talking cloth for over an hour.  Jonathan thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend,
