I have used my boy's only week to get a lot done while the girls were off to Scout camp. That's good because I've realized that with some more vacation and a church mission trip I volunteered for my time is getting short in July to get ready for NOAC.
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
I've had several conversations with people over what is the best set up for a TOR. Do you go with a big catalog rack (think Phil) or tubs (think TSPA) or lots and lots of Jensen boxes (many of us). After I press send I'm spending the rest of today literally packing for the NOAC TOR.
The math when thinking about a TOR is pretty interesting. Since I'm so used to eBay I have to think about the trouble and fees associated with selling a patch on eBay versus incentivizing someone to buy it from me at a show. A $10 patch on eBay can easily be a $7 patch at a show because you spend maybe 30% of that amount on fees, labor to list and ship, etc.
I got a message from someone this week asking for advice on his website. He built a site to try and sell things but after all that trouble only sold 2 items. I feel your pain brother! I've had more luck than that but making a website to compete against eBay is kind of a fools errand I can know say with some confidence.
If your summer travels take you through the Carolinas on Interstate 95 then consider making a pit stop at one of my antique mall booths that sit right off the Interstate. I've got two of them just an hour apart on the big road. I've had some nice visitors this summer come through and with this being a holiday weekend I thought you could use a reminder. I also maintain a website that tells more about them over at www.santeeswapperstore.com.
