eBay Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter
Sunday Morning
February 8, 2015
If you've ever tried to build a website then you know that sometimes inexplicably things can break.  In my case I think it was my attempt to fix things that really knocked things off the rails.  Recently many of you have told me there were issues with the images on ScoutPatchHQ.com.  I spent the better part of the weekend cleaning out the bowels of the website and it's now clean and live.
Vintage Auctions Ending Soon on eBay
Without going into detail here was the basic problem.  When I upload items for sale the image folders are separate and each listing has an "address" for the image that shows the patch. In my case those addresses got scrambled so I had the wrong image showing up for a whole bunch of items.

Order of the Arrow Auctions Closing Soon
When I first sat down to tackle this Friday evening I was doing them one at a time.  Eventually by Saturday I learned that the folders were the problem and I was able to speed things up and do twenty at a time.  Needless to say it wasn't until 1 AM Sunday that I finished the job.

Boy Scout Auctions Ending This Weekend
So if you want to visit the site today and poke around looking for items I should be able to deliver on a clean site free of errors.  I could have missed something so please let me know if you find something out of whack.  I hope you'll visit www.ScoutPatchHQ.com and see the improvements.

I am using the closing block in the newsletter today to take you back to November, 2011 and the very first episode of my podcast Scouting Hot Finds Radio that featured an interview guest.

The first true interview style episode for my podcast Scouting Hot Finds Radio didn't happen until the 4th show.  The honor of being the first person to sit in my virtual guest chair was
went to my long time friend Jason Shull.  In this interview we addressed a topic that he was very passionate about that I thought people in the hobby would want to know more about - collecting segregated Boy Scout camp patches.  This show went live in November of 2011 and represented the beginning of a long string of recording interviews with people in the hobby that have something interesting to share.  There is a 2nd part to this episode and I will link to that in next week's newsletter.
