Dear Friends,

It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the passing of our beloved sister, cousin and friend, Beth (Murphy) Swain.

Beth passed away on Sunday August 30, surrounded by family, after a long, valiant battle with cancer.   She won her seven year battle with breast cancer, but was diagnosed last October with Stage 4 renal cancer.  She fought in the same way she lived her whole life - with grace and faith.

Beth and Kala opened up The Fabric Garden in 1978 with their late Aunt Marie.  Over the years, she always helped customers and friends with a cheerful smile and giving heart.

We will hold dearly the memories of our beloved Beth.  Her kindness, her gentle manner, her lovely smile, her generosity.  She was a dear sister to Kala,  Celia, and Maura... adoring cousin to Cheryl...  faithful friend to Susie, Fran, Robin, Barbara and Sharon and so many others in The Fabric Garden family.   We will miss her dearly.

Arrangements have been made through Smart and Edwards Funeral Home in Skowhegan, Maine.     (Click for obituary and final arrangements)
