New collections from Andover Fabrics, inspired by the wildly popular PBS series, "Downton Abbey". (We adore the show!)
New selections include:
The Downstairs Collection
Based on the small prints that Mrs. Patmore, Daisy, Ivy, and other house staff wear. They're unassuming prints, which add a little color to what would otherwise be a life of uniformed servitude. Tiny prints, little plaids, stripes. Not overly bold; the colors reflect the Downstairs lifestyle in that they have their own somewhat muted sensibility.
Lord & Lady Collection
While Robert and Cora Crawley may not always see eye-to-eye, their
dispositions complement each other greatly, and their marriage brings
warmth to Downton Abbey. Robert's Herringbone pattern in this
collection is drawn from the wools, worn while out on his hunts. It
contrasts with Cora's Dahlia pattern, which is inspired by one of
the many elegant dresses she's worn in prior seasons of the show.
Logos and Labels Collection
The iconic Manor is centerpiece to this collection, in rich tones and neutrals. Also features the official Downton Abbey logo, and beautiful flourished labels which would be the perfect finishing touch for any project.

Moda Community Quilt Kit Featuring fabric reproduced from an 1840's Maine Quilt
Community 1840 is the 15th in the Collection for a Cause Series. Proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Libby Lehman Medical Fund to support and honor designer, lecturer and teacher Libby Lehman as she continues her recovery from a stroke.
The "Community" quilt, the original 1840's cotton and chintz quilt found in Maine, recognizes and honors the generous, talented and creative individuals who share a common passion for quilting, textiles and design.

Our Space Quilt Star Block Made It To Houston!
You may remember posts in past newsletters about NASA Astronaut Karen Nyberg's challenge to quilters: Create a star-themed block to be assembled with the one she created IN ZERO GRAVITY WHILE IN SPACE (!). This accomplishment put her in the record books as the first quilter in space. Can you imagine sewing in zero gravity???
Kala & Celia created and submitted a quilt block in memory of their father, whose career spanned 43 years working in the space industry on such projects as the Lunar Module and Space Shuttles. The block was brought to life by Fabric Garden veteran, Susie. (thanks Susie!)
You can see the block below, along with Astronaut Nyberg at Houston International Quilt Festival. Ours is the upper-right block with black background. (from Space.com article)
Close-up of the quilt block, which features a photo of Kala & Celia's late father Edward Murphy (left), with the Lunar Module mock-up, circa 1964 (photo here at NASA.gov)
