In Memoriam
The Square lost a longtime friend and supporter last week with the passing of Karen O'Connell, the town's Economic Development Director. Dedham Square Circle Executive Director Amy Haelsen worked closely with Karen over the course of several years which included countless hours devoted to the quest for the state grant for the Dedham Square Improvement Project, and the planning for and execution of the project through its completion. Having served as Director of the Main Street Program in Hyde Park for a number of years, Karen understood the unique challenges DSC faced and was a great mentor and advocate for the Square. She frequented the Square's small businesses and valued their important contributions to our community. We are eternally grateful for all that she did to support the Square and our town. She will be greatly missed.
