stroll 2009 Save the Date - The Annual Dedham Square Holiday Stroll is just around the corner!  Join us on Friday, Dec. 5th for the ceremonial lighting of the town's Christmas tree hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Street performers, entertainment, merchants specials, and lots of holiday hoopla. More details next issue!

Food for Fines - Once again the Dedham Public Library will be accepting nonperishable items for the Dedham Food Pantry in place of fines for the months of November and December  (does not apply to lost/damaged items, or non-Dedham fines). Click here for the ood Pantry's wish list.

Art Beat - Opening Reception for the Dedham Square Artist Guild's Artists of the Month, Cindy Mootz and Barbara Trainer, on Thurs. 11/6 from 6-8 pm. On Sat. 11/8, Pat Hawkins hosts a Trunk Show featuring her hand painted glassware from 12-4 pm. On Fri. 11/28, jewelry artist Barbara Trainer hosts a Trunk Show from 10-6.    

   

 

Hop To It - The Blue Bunny hosts several free fun-filled events this month including a Teddy Bear Book Party on Tues. 11/11, book signing with Peter H. Reynolds on Sat. 11/15, a special bedtime story time on Fri. 11/21 and a visit from author and illustrator Kelly Light on Sat. 11/29.  

 

Grab a Brush - Paint Nite Fundraisers have been planned for two local schools:  The Dedham High School Parent Connection hosts theirs on Sat. 11/8 at 5:30 pm at the American Legion and  St. Paul's Nursery School hosts theirs on Fri. 11/14 from 7-8 pm at the school.  Click here for more info.

Music Notes - Every Friday and Saturday night  Paradise Cafe showcases some of best local musicians in the Boston area. No cover charge.  The first Thursday of every month is Open Mic Night. Next one is on Thurs. 11/6. Click here for their event calendar.

Cause to Celebrate - Did you know that the Main Library branch on Church St. opened 126 years ago? This month stop by to see photos from when it was built, through a few transformations, to current times. On Fri. 11/21, stop in to the Main Library for cake and treats all day to celebrate the Library's birthday!

 

Branch Out - The Dedham Community House will host their Annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale on Sat. 11/29 and Sun. 11/30 as well as the following weekend, Sat. 12/6 and Sun. 12/7.  Find the perfect tree and support a great organization. it's a win-win!

Headstart on Holiday Shopping  -
The Oakdale School PTO is hosting a Vendor and Craft Night on Fri. 11/7 from 6-10 pm at the Dedham Holiday Inn.
CAN you help? 
The Avery School PTO is having a Bottle & Can Drive fundraiser on Sat. 11/8 from 10am- 12pm. Drop off all your returnables and help them raise some dough!

You Gotta Have Art - Mother Brook Arts & Community Center will host Open Studios on Sat. 11/15 & Sun. 11/16.  Head back over on Thurs. 11/20 from 6:30-9:30 for their Story Slam.

turkey trot Gobble Gobble - The 3rd Annual Turkey Trot 5K, organized by Ripples of Hope to benefit the Dedham Food Pantry, will be held on Thanksgiving morning at the Endicott Estate. Burn off some calories before you feast!
