New Mentor Factsheet

Mentoring LGBT Youth

The AYMN has released a new factsheet - Factsheet 18 Mentoring LGBT Youth. This factsheet provides hints and tips to assist mentors whose mentee is LGBT or who might be LGBT. It also provides answers to frequently asked questions and useful websites to assist both the mentor and mentee.

Research Quarterly

Spring Edition 2013

The Spring 2013 edition of the Research Quarterly is out now. Youth mentoring research papers examined that quarter include articles looking at youth mentoring and homeless youths, the effectiveness of school based mentoring, the perceptions of e-mentoring and an evaluation of the "Time to Read" mentoring program.

	Maintaining mentoring relationships over summer
	As mentors and mentees transition into their summer holidays, an important aspect will be maintaining their relationships through the extended break. With the relaxed schedules and fun activities, it may be easy for mentor pairs to miss interacting regularly with one another. Mentoring research reminds us that consistent and frequent contacts are critical to cultivating and maintaining strong relationships.

The Australian Youth Mentoring Network office will be closed from 20 December 2013 to 5 January 2014.
