Greetings!
It is nice to see the weather warming up in New Jersey and the golf courses starting to get back in shape. This is my first letter to the junior tour membership and I would just like to say how excited I am to be the new Junior Golf Coordinator for the New Jersey Section. I am now starting my 6th year with the New Jersey PGA. In recent years I have been involved with tournament golf in New Jersey on almost every level, from US KIDS to the PGA TOUR. I am really looking forward to following in Chris Hunt's footsteps and providing an excellent opportunity for junior golfers in New Jersey to play tournament golf, meet other golfers their age and have some fun on the golf course this summer.
As many of you know, the pre-season spring events filled up fast! It is great to see such an eagerness to get back out on the golf course after a long winter. It was also nice to see an increase in participation in the girls division compared to last year.
Hopefully you have taken some time to start planning your summer golf schedules. The link to our tournament schedule is in this newsletter if you have not yet seen it. We will also be adding a new event for 2013. The Junior/Junior is going to be a 2-person team event which we're expecting to be a huge success. More details about the Junior/Junior will be posted on the tournament schedule soon.
I'm looking forward to another great golf season in 2013! As always, I'm here to answer any questions you may have about our events, USKIDS Golf or the NJPGA Junior Tour, so please do not hesitate to call or email me.
Sincerely,
Greg Zohovetz
Junior Golf Coordinator
