International Day of the Girl - Oct 11  Everyone

It is not just a day, it is a movement! Just two years ago, the UN declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl. Its mission is "to help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls' lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential."

Made with Code   Everyone
International Day of the Girl is bigger than one issue, one organization, one country, and even the day itself. It is a yearly reflection of what we've done and what we need to keep doing to fully achieve gender equality everywhere.
This year's observance targets education. Despite our prosperity and universal education, we still have work to do. Girls are lagging far behind in science, math, and technology enrollment. It's a gender gap our country can't afford, that some innovative programs are trying to overcome by introducing coding which works to educate and inspire high school girls to go into computer science. Learn
why coding is kind of a big deal!  #dayofthegirl2014
